Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) is the second hardest material after diamond. CBN wheels are specifically designed for grinding hard, wear-resistant ferrous metals like hardened steel, tool & die steel, and high-speed steel. They possess high thermal stability and chemical inertness, meaning they do not readily react with iron-group elements even at high grinding temperatures. They offer an extremely long life and can achieve precision machining results that can replace lapping.
